Organization Description:
Furry Friends Rescue is dedicated to aiding the thousands of feral cats and
dogs in the inner-city areas of Baltimore, Maryland. They feed and rescue
homeless and abandoned cats and dogs living in alleys, vacant lots, around
dumpsters and in housing projects, year-round; in all kinds of weather. They're
outreach is growing, but the number of homeless animals was growing beyond
their means. They knew it was time to spread the word and get more people
involved.
Objective:
Furry Friends Rescue's web objective was to launch a site that would serve
as a tool to reach the public, educate them about the problem in all inner-cities
around the United States and send out a “call to action” to motive
people to get involved. The site was to be informative, modern, and clean
to appeal to a broad target audience. The problem is a serious one and the
site needed to be neither “too cute”, nor “too graphic”. In an effort to save money for this non-profit organization, free hosting on Bravenet.com was the preferred solution.
Solution:
IWS developed a pure HTML design and logo for Furry Friends Rescue. To gain
the most benefit from the site's message, our staff designed a clean, friendly,
yet informative site. Simplistic ease of navigation directs the visitor to
informative content and links. Furry Friends is no longer supported by IWS,
even though they still use the logo we created for them. We wish them the
very best in their endeavors to save Baltimore's feral cats!
